HIMT College of Pharmacy arranges time to time industrial visits to Pharmaceutical Industries to help students to corroborate their theoretical knowledge with practical application in real world of drugs.
HIMT college of Pharmacy students are taken on industrial visit to Indian Pharmacopoeial Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad, U.P. IPC is an autonomous institution of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India which sets standards and prepare monographs for drugs that are manufactured, sold and consumed in India. During visit, post graduate students are made aware of actual quality assurance and control importance while working with D & C Act and Indian Pharmacopoeias. Recently, HIMT arranged a visit for students to join Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), held at IPC in Oct’ 2019. The programme helped students to familiarise with drug safety regulations and policies of Indian Govt. that take care of safety and risks associated with new and existing drugs in Indian as well as International market.
Students of B.Pharm final year and M.Pharm were taken on an industrial visit in 2018 to Hamdard Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. situated at Manesar, Gurgaon, Haryana where students were made to familiarise with Production, Quality control and R & D departments of the industry. A brief detail about the company’s profile was given to the students. The visit helped students connect their knowledge of theory to the actual practice. All students were felt excited with elevated morale after this visit.
